Training and the Community: Apprenticeships and training: The Company is a founding member of the Savile Row Bespoke association which works with Newham College in East London and introduced a pre-apprenticeship course for bespoke tailoring in 2007. Since then, over 300 young people have attended the course which today provides the majority of the apprentices for Savile Row companies. At any one time, Gieves & Hawkes, has a number of apprentices at its premises at No 1 Savile Row.
Internships: Gieves & Hawkes regularly employs interns in its marketing and product departments.
Surplus cloth: Gieves & Hawkes donates surplus cloth to the London College of Fashion & TRAID.
Product Sourcing: Gieves & Hawkes is dedicated to conducting its operations throughout the world on principles of ethical business practice and recognition of the dignity of workers. We expect our business partners, their suppliers, and authorized sub-contractors to respect and adhere to our standard guidelines and to all applicable national and local laws in the operation of their business. All suppliers are required to conform to our Vendor Compliance guidelines.
