Assistant Merchandiser

No.1 Savile Row, London

Overview of Role: We have had a new and exciting role come up within our Head Office based in central London for an Assistant Merchandiser. Please see below for a list of key responsibilities.

Admin Support

Trading Pack / Weekly Reports:

  1. Initial Sales
  2. Weekly Sales
  3. Style selling by store
  4. Core style selling

Allocation & Stock Management

  1. Raising Transfers
  2. Monitoring Store Stock cover levels and forward planning
  3. Setting and maintaining model stock levels across Core and Seasonal collections
  4. Ownership of Core Merchandising file
  5. Ownership and maintenance of Stock file for review of Seasonal, Core and Residual stock position
  6. Daily Sales Snapshot reporting (New)
  7. Allocation of Seasonal stock
  8. Ownership of Core Replenishment process

Market Support

Create Seasonal Sales Analysis Deck for Buy Preparation:

  1. Seasonal Summary by category
  2. Price point analysis
  3. Colour analysis
  4. Option productivity
  5. Sizing analysis
  6. Ranging with Images:

  7. Buy images with retail, margin, units, doors ranged, requested delivery date
  8. Rail images with style information
  9. Key Looks with style information
  10. Order upload for bulk and sized orders

Alterations Tailor

No.1 Savile Row, London

With three Royal Warrants to our name, at the prestigious address of No.1 Savile Row, Gieves & Hawkes maintains its position at the heart of English tailoring.

Overview of Role: To carry out alterations to Made to Measure and RTW clothing.

Key role accountabilities:

  1. Meet deadlines
  2. Carry out all types of alterations
  3. Press all seams flat
  4. Re-stitch all seams faultlessly
  5. Press garment after alteration has been completed

Experience and Knowledge:

Complete and full understanding of all types of garment construction and knowledge of all hand-sewing skills with a natural ability as well good machine control and aptitude. Can work with a variety of people, can problem solve and forward think.

Sales Associate (Mandarin Speaking)

Overview of Role: You will represent the best of British through delivering a high level of customer service and Clientele management in order to encourage repeat spend and brand loyalty. You will also be acting as an ambassador of the brand in line with business goals and achieve sales targets as outlined by your line manager, supporting the overall growth and profitability of the store.

Main Responsibilities

  1. You will be part of the team representing our luxury brand. You will contribute to meeting sales targets, play your part in ensuring the store runs smoothly and provide world class exceptional customer service.
  2. You will have previous experience in a customer focused environment and ideally experience in a luxury environment.

Overview of Role: We have an amazing opportunity for a Full-Time Sales Associate to work in our store based in Birmingham.

Sales Associate, Part-Time (Weekend, 16 hours)

Product Developer – 9 Month Maternity Cover – Potential to extend

Head Office, London

Overview of Role: We are looking for an experienced Product Developer to join our Head Office team to cover Accessories and Knit development. Reporting to the Product Development Manager and working with the Product Development team and European sourcing office, to oversee the development of the casual categories in line with the Critical Path calendar to ensure Seasonal Collections are delivered on time and within budget to the quality levels required.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Responsibility for all areas of the product development cycle for products within designated remit. This includes materials and components required for product categories, ensuring sample collections are developed and delivered to the required timescale, business cost & margin targets and within the Sample Budget
  2. Ensure quality of product is maintained to the highest level across fabrication and fit through to production with support from the Garment Technician and Sourcing team
  3. Ensure all key development dates are maintained in line with the Critical Path, and flag up all necessary queries and risks
  4. Maintain and develop strong key relationships and initial cost negotiation with vendors, suppliers and factories in the UK, Europe and the rest of the world, championing effective relationships
  5. Lead and develop strong relationships with the Sourcing team in Italy and the Asia Buying team in Hong Kong
  6. Maintain and develop strong relationships between the teams in the wider Creative team (design and merchandising) as well as the wider business (finance, retail, warehouse, IT, HR, finance).
  7. Work closely with and support the Product Development Manager and Head of Buying & Merchandising in driving the product development cycle
  8. Lead the development of the Casual departments to improve efficiencies and productivity
  9. Liaise with fabric and trim suppliers ensuring sampling orders are on time and to the required quality level with costs and order quantity minimums effectively negotiated
  10. Manage and lead fit meetings with the support of the Garment Technician, logging comments and ensuring clear and accurate updates are communicated to suppliers
  11. Manage the Product Development Assistant to ensure data accuracy is maintained across Seasonal Linelist, Cloth List and in the Pre Production system
  12. Coach, lead and develop the Product Development Assistant to achieve their objectives and deadlines as well as their personal and career development
  13. Ensure own development needs are highlighted and supported
